With the continuous crackdown on pirated movies on DVD, the limited-to-scarce stock of new movies (both Hollywood and world cinema) are prevalent in the black market. The fire that destroyed Good Earth Mall in Recto, Manila only made matters worst, considering that the place is rife with cinephiles. Even at Makati Cinema Square, regular shoppers are blaming the unlucky situation as the cause of the death of bootlegged DVD (otherwise known as the "OTHER CINEMA").
Even so, inquisitive and patient buyers can find classic, upcoming releases, and hard to find films on DVD 5, DVD 9, and Blu-Ray editions. That is, if you are an avid fan. Price increase (ranging from P50.00 to P80.00) is another issue (if cinephiles care).
